SPAN 300
Pre-Capstone for Spanish Majors
Course description
Directed toward Spanish majors preparing for their Capstone experience, this 2 unit course aims to guide the student in the process of completing a capstone proposal and initiating the preliminary steps toward the graduation portfolio. The portfolio provides evidence that a student is making satisfactory progress toward meeting the Core requirements and Major Learning Outcomes (MLOs) for the Spanish B.A
SPAN 300 was helpful in the sense that it allowed me to gather sources for my capstone project. Without these sources my partner wouldn't have been able to gather the research that we did with respect to our project. I like how the course walked us step by step on how to have success on our project. For one of the assignments that we had in the class we were to write an annotated bibliography with a list of the ten sources we are going to use for our project. The annotated bibliography was helpful became it allowed us to see what each source was about without having to go back and reread the actual article. We also created an outline for our project. These were both extremely helpful in the sense that we were able to start making progress on a big project. Before the outline that we completed in the course, I had no idea on where to start for the project. But after completing it, we had the opportunity of seeing what we were going to focus on and where we were going to put it in our project. Another thing that was of very helpful was going over the literature. Although we only talked it briefly, it allowed my partner and I to start doing research on the previous studies that had been done for our topic.
